How it worked in Belmont-Hillsboro

For the living room, here’s what the family brought, what we found secondhand, and the makers we hired with the money we didn’t spend on new furniture.

What they had

The family arrived with rugs, art, and books they loved and hoped to use, along with wallpaper left over from their previous home, and a few rolls they sourced secondhand. We said yes to all of it, and built the rooms to show their pieces off.

What we found secondhand

Our team sourced nearly everything in the photo above secondhand. The Anthropologie Chesterfield was a $600 Facebook Marketplace find, professionally cleaned, joined with the vintage horse lamps, side tables, and coffee table.

Who we worked with

We brought in a carpenter to build the custom library wall at the top of this page. The lamp pros repaired the horse lamps and fitted them with linen shades. Our upholsterer sewed custom covers for the sofa cushions, and our installer hung every roll of that wallpaper.
