Pricing

We’re paid to design,
not to sell you things.

Our pricing model makes our luxury, low-waste spaces possible. You pay one flat design fee for your room, and you get every piece we source for you at cost.

One sofa, two invoices

Most studios furnish your room at retail, then add 20% to every line of your invoice. That model rewards your designer for selling you more things, newer things, and more expensive things. Here’s what a sofa looks like on their invoice and on ours.

The traditional model

Sofa, at retail$6,500
Markup, 20%+ $1,300
You pay$7,800

The KKI model

Sofa, preloved$1,600
Markup$0
You pay$1,600

The whole-project math

There’s a good chance your total is smaller.

Look at the all-in total: the design fee plus everything in the room. Because the pieces are preloved and we don’t mark them up, that total almost always comes in under what another top studio would charge to furnish the same room new. We like the savings, but they’re not why we do this. We’d design secondhand first at any price.

We work for you, and we love a Facebook Marketplace deal as much as you do.

Ballpark your project

What your project might cost

The design fee is set per room type, and it covers everything we do: the design, the sourcing, the pickups, the install, and the styling. We hire the trades from our network of Nashville partners, the best at what they do, and we run the work from start to finish. The furnishings & contract work budget varies with how much you need and what you pick out. Add up your rooms to ballpark the whole project.

About every estimate

Each room’s furnishings & contract work estimate includes standard trades: painters, movers, handyman, seamstress, wallpaper installer. Furnishings come to you at cost. Contract work is billed at the trade’s price plus a 20% subcontractor fee. Custom carpentry (think built-in library walls) and new floors are scoped and quoted separately.
